Standard Definitions
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom.
During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed Rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced.
Rock and Pop music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which pop became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible.

Western Pop: the collection of all kinds of international pop music-based genres with tracks in English, created by artists living or grown up in the main English-speaking country (USA, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa etc..);
Latin Pop: pop music in Portuguese and Spanish, regardless of the geographic origins of the artists;
International Pop: pop music genres not included in the previous definition, subdivided by geographical areas as: continent (e.g European Pop) sub-continent (e.g East Asian Pop), macro-area (e.g : Arabic Music) , languages (e.g the cluster Francophone African Pop) .
